New Lion was fully produced in Evan's apartment using a combination of live and synthetic instruments. It was recorded over the course of one year while working on other projects in the entertainment industry. Gamble's goal was to embrace as wide a variety of genres as possible and make it fit cohesively on one EP. New Lion was the first "full-band" release Gamble has ever done as a solo artist. In his opinion it was viewed as a rebirth. Plus, he's a Leo.
